Summertime in Greencastle, Indiana

So it may seem odd to post about our summer trip to Indiana in the middle of winter- but maybe that is why I just wanted to relive it for a bit. Our good friends moved back home to Indiana a few years ago and we have had the good fortune to be able to visit them twice since and we can’t wait to get back there again….

Our boys are just a few months apart and their daughter is following right behind them…It was sweet to spend time with them, in the country- with their organic garden and acres of land. It is hard to imagine that living here in Southern California, but they have grass fields, tree groves, (two) barns, and a (very) old schoolhouse that they have converted into their home. So, yes, basically understated beauty all over the place. They made a conscious choice to live life in a quiet, purposeful way and it is inspiring (without being intimidating).

So many warm, humid nights spent playing cards or talking late…listening to music and reminiscing about how fast time flies. Good times of fellowship and friendship. I so enjoyed watching Anna baking cookies with Indiana maple syrup- wow, so good. We share that love of making things for sure….Also, a love for good fabrics, blogs, thrifting, crafting and art. Wes and Manish had fun with the boys- going to the creek, heading into town, drinking Dairy Castle shakes and riding around in the golf cart.  We can’t wait for them to come and visit us, as well….
